Basic Communication Skills:-

The students will develop their communication skills in four parts:

Listening

• Format:- Four parts with 40 questions total, played only once.
• Content:- Includes everyday social conversations and academic monologues (Lectures, Discussions).
• Skills Tested:- Understanding main ideas, specific information, attitudes, and opinions.  

Speaking

• Format:- A 11-14 minute face-to-face interview with an examiner.
• Content:- 
• Part 1:- General questions about familiar topics (hometown, work, interests). 
• Part 2:- A monologue on a given topic, with preparation time. 
• Part 3:- A conceptual and abstract discussion with the examiner on a related topic. 
• Skills Tested:- Fluency, coherence, vocabulary, and the ability to discuss abstract ideas. 

Writting

Format:- Two tasks, taking 60 minutes. 

• • Content:- 

• Task 1:- Describes and summarizes visual information like graphs, charts, maps, or diagrams.
• Task 2:-  An essay on a given topic, requiring you to present an argument or discuss a concept. 
• Skills Tested:- Ability to describe data, present information coherently, and construct a logical argument.

Reading

• Format:- Three passages/sections with 40 questions. 
• Content:- Passages are long and complex, often from academic sources
• Skills Tested:- Reading comprehension, identifying main ideas, understanding specific details, and recognizing writer’s viewpoints.
